Nature guides our steps.

At Sheedo, we aim to help organizations reduce their environmental footprint by providing sustainable and customizable products that showcase their brand and convey their values as a company. That’s why we’ve created this section, where we share every single detail of our products.

Because the first step is sustainable consumption.

Raw material

The materials with which our products are made are the starting point for achieving environmentally responsible production.

Sheedo’s main driving force is to carefully choose the raw material with which we are going to produce, since by using sustainable alternatives, we achieve a much lower impact on the environment. This is important for the conservation of biodiversity and the prevention of climate change.

In addition, using this type of materials reduces the amount of waste generated, since in all cases they can be recycled, reused… or planted!

The raw materials that we use at Sheedo are:

● Textile waste cotton

Recycled paper, kraft paper, and white paper

Clay

Coconut fiber

Recycled PVC banner

Recycled cardboard

Textile waste cotton

We recycle the waste generated by the textile industry and use it as raw material for all our papers. In this way, we give a second life to a waste product, we encourage the production of handmade paper, we produce with 40% less water than conventional paper and we do not use any toxic chemicals for bleaching. The result is 100% sustainable paper.

Recycled paper, kraft paper, and white paper

We use FSC-certified recycled paper for our notebooks, as it is the best material for writing. In addition, we choose these papers for the packaging of our products because of their stiffness and consistency. They can be easily printed and personalized with any type of printing and have an aesthetic finish. It is an excellent alternative to single-use plastic.

Clay

We chose this natural raw material for the production of our pots and plantable chocolates. It is valued for its abundance in our country, as well as for its low environmental impact during extraction and processing. In addition, clay is a recyclable and biodegradable material, which makes it a sustainable option for the production of any product.

Recycled PVC banner

The advertising banner is one of our favorite raw materials, because we are giving a second life to a product that does not really have a second use and is very polluting. We take care of collecting the banner, cleaning it and making a unique and useful product. The upcycling of this material contributes 100% to the circular economy.

Coconut fiber

The pot of our coconut planting kit is made of this fascinating material. Its environmental impact is practically zero, since it is obtained from coconut husk, a by-product of the food industry. In addition, coconut fiber is biodegradable and renewable, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic substrates.

Recycled cardboard.

This raw material contributes to the reduction of waste and the conservation of natural resources, as it is obtained from the recycling of used cardboard. In addition, the use of recycled cardboard in the production of new products reduces energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production of virgin cardboard. Sometimes the boxes our products come in are not the prettiest…but they are getting a second life!

The provenance of corporate gifts is an important factor to consider, as it can have a significant impact on the customers’ perception of the company. At Sheedo we always try to encourage local and national consumption, in order to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions generated by the transportation of products and to promote the national economy.

Under this premise, when choosing our suppliers, we prioritize local companies that operate in Madrid, followed by national suppliers, and only consider international options if local or national suppliers are not available. The most important factor is who we work with and how we work with them, always ensuring that all factories we work with are socially and environmentally responsible.

The raw material of the products that come from Europe or Asia, represent only a part of the product. Ultimately, the product is assembled and customized in Spain. Below is a graph of where our products are created:

People

One of the fundamental pillars of Sheedo is the people behind the project. From the very beginning, we have carefully chosen who we work with and have focused on two very clear aspects: local and artisanal work, and work with foundations for people with intellectual disabilities.

Firstly, our paper is handmade by papermaking masters who have learned this craft from generation to generation. Our suppliers are located in rural areas, and thanks to our activity and the support of all the people who opt for handmade paper, we manage to promote the economic development of these areas and reduce the gap between urban and rural areas.

Secondly, we work with foundations for people with intellectual disabilities for the handling of all our products and preparation of orders. We chose to work with them from the beginning, and today we employ three foundations: Fundación Gil Gayarre, Fundación A La Par, and Fundación Apadema.

By choosing our products, you are contributing to social inclusion and the well-being of these individuals. These foundations can offer high-quality products and services while providing work opportunities and training for people with intellectual disabilities. Our goal is to raise awareness of their great social and professional work and help them open up more opportunities with other organizations like yours.

Life Cycle

The end of the life cycle of sustainable products is a key aspect of the circular economy and sustainability. In general, sustainable products are designed to be eco-efficient throughout their life cycle, from production to use and end-of-life. However, when it comes time to dispose of products, it is important to ensure that this is done in a way that minimizes their environmental impact.

Therefore, when designing our products, we always focus on the following parameters:

Why should your company choose to buy sustainable merchandising products?

It is essential for companies to be fully transparent in all their actions, showing a sincere commitment to ethics and fairness. By purchasing products and services in an ethical manner, we are demonstrating our deep concern for the impact our choices have on the world. We must be aware of how our consumption decisions can affect society, the economy and the environment, and we must act with a deep sense of responsibility toward all living things and our planet as a whole. A spirit of honesty and sincerity should flow through everything we do, and we should take great satisfaction in knowing that our consumer actions are making a positive difference in the world. Together, we can create a more just, sustainable and hopeful future for all.
